Whilst staying at Bronte Cottage, why not take the opportunity to visit the Award winning National Mining Museum. Situated between Wakefield and Huddersfield on the main A642, this is less than 30 minutes from the Cottage.
Admission is free and this includes the infamous underground tour which sees you descend 140 Meters below ground to discover what mining was really like. (Under fives not permitted on the underground tour, with the exception of the Santa tours).
There are plenty of learning opportunities throughout the visit with interactive Nature trails and role playing with Characters from " Times gone by".
This is a fun and friendly day out for all the family and a Unique opportunity to understand mining through the ages.
